I have to confess something.
Although I've been cheery and happy-ish these past couple weeks, mentally I've been terrible.
I haven't been getting enough sleep and I only eat dinner everyday. I drink water and coffee throughout the day.

Ha! I'm the opposite way! Until I tried succulents, I couldn't exactly get them to thrive. Never tried calatheas or marantas, though. Yesterday I went around and checked all the succulents I've got growing on the ground. I've got 4 blooms it seems. From my "controlled" collection I've got 5 plants blooming, 3 haworthia, a crassula (with multiple blooms on), and an euphorbia. I'm hoping I get at least a couple more blooms, but I'm not sure. A lot of my cactus species need to be BIG before they get to flowering age

Yay more plant friends! I started my little collection by "accident" last year. And um... I'm up to... -checks spreadsheet- 18 plants thus far! I've got a good collection of tropicals mostly (I love my monsteras and calatheas) though there's a couple succulents and one fern.



HA! Okay so... funny story. I kill succulents but I do REALLY well with my Calatheas (And Marantas also). I can't wait to have a stromanthe because just yes. Idk I guess I'm just better with the finicky plants! Which reminds me I really need to water my plants soon. I'm technically overdue for a couple and I'm slightly worried my Syngonium might be wilting

On the chicken side of things! I just set 24 eggs in my incubator! (It's pretty tight in there, I got every single egg I could fit in this thing!) There's one spare in case anything goes sideways but by the time I check idk if that thing will hatch... I might just need to sacrifice it to the "checking if fertility is good" gods. I just hope my old Brinsea does as good of a job as it has in the past. I can't wait to get a bigger/better incubator. But one thing at a time.

Even easy stuff like eating breakfast or feeding the chickens cause those easy ones help me motivate to do harder tasks.

Sometimes I make a list of stuff to do and include the "I do this every day, so why should I put it on the list?" stuff. Then, at the end of the day, I can see that I really did get a lot of stuff done. Because there are a lot "I do them every day" things that a lot of people (well, not people here) would see as work or chores.

The lists helped for me! Unfortunately I found making the list ended up something that would need to be on the list so I lost motivation for the list

I have been looking at to-do list apps but I haven't found one I like yet

Not yet, it's still technically young, I had to do its first pruning a couple of months ago and I still need to get a moss pole for it, though it's getting pretty big. My Silver Monstera I don't think can fruit, and I know my adansonii can't.

Oh goodness, hey sometimes you just kinda find your speciality with plants! Mine just happen to be tropicals it seems. I'm trying desperately to not kill my fern though. My boyfriend got me a kangaroo paw fern for Valentine's Day. It was so adorable, first call of the day for work and he was sent to a florist in downtown Lancaster.

He was cursing his luck and I'm sitting here thinking "That's good luck, because you completely forgot to get me even a card because of how busy you were." So he came home with it in a pretty pot, they repotted it for him, and poor thing, he didn't know that he should've asked them to repot it in a nursery pot and then just buy the extra pretty pot. But it's alright. I can still technically bottom water it... ish.

Everything I've seen online about the Kangaroo Paw Ferns says that it's care is similar to a Blue Star Fern, and also that they're pretty hardy so they're great for beginners. I'm just kinda watering when he's dry and trying to make sure he's not getting too crispy.... which is easier said than done...
