LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

I don't play by the book nearly as much
Tongs work really well on pads and small furry cactus, the larger cactus like barrel cactus I use heavy duty materials like leather or tarpaulin, if I double it, spines can't get through.

as I should.

The barrel cacti, mammillaria, gymnocalycium, and astrophytum I handle with my bare hands. The others I simply use two skewers as chopsticks to move them around

These are a couple of my favorite succulents...

Watch Chain.... (All of the following plants are all in 4" pots, I will enjoy watching these grow in the years to come)

Gorgeous plants, and very well taken care of!

Speaking of Saguaro, you should get one. They don't get too big after all... :p

If I lived one state over (Arizona) I would probably have one in my back yard! 🤣 I love those big cactus, they unfortunately wouldn't survive our frigid winter temps. BUT... I did see baby suguaro cacti on the Planet Desert website! 😁

Meant to be!

Saguaro are so cool. They maintain a bunch of different bird and insect species, and I even remember reading about a small breeding population of feral lovebirds making their nests in Saguaros

Yes many birds use holes that woodpeckers have made in them, birds eat the fruits, bats too. These big cactus are just amazing standing the test of time and surviving. They say they don't start getting their arms until after 50 years of age! So you can imagine how old some of them must be to have multiple arms and be so tall!
