This is on the Martin's Permethrin 10% Concentrate label:View attachment 1532245
Notice the "initial" dilution is .5%.
My favorite Martin's premixed solution:
I did a quick search and only came up with 2 threads,Sorry to hijack the thread with my own question, but I just found lice on a new chicken I have in isolation.
I like this easy premix version! The Tractor Supply site says this Martin's spray is approved for use on poultry. Have you used it successfully? I am extremely hesitant to use permethrin since I have cats (indoor only). From what I've read they will be safe as long as the liquid dries completely (like if it got on my shoes/clothes and I came inside). Does anyone have experience with using it outside on the chickens with cats inside? It is extremely toxic to cats so it makes me nervous.
It's dangerous to cats if they injest large amounts of it.Sorry to hijack the thread with my own question, but I just found lice on a new chicken I have in isolation.

I use it on chickens and I have indoor cats. Also have feral cats that come around and they're okay too.Does anyone have experience with using it outside on the chickens with cats inside? It is extremely toxic to cats so it makes me nervous.
I had no idea the dog topical was so concentrated!
The over the counter meds made my dogs sick. I don't know if I would trust them with my birds. But, if it were the only solution, I would weigh each bird and divide the dosage accordingly. That stuff is generally sold by the weight of the dog.I had no idea the dog topical was so concentrated!

Thing is.....the 'dog' formula may not match the 'bird' formula..plus dog stuff has other chemicals...like one you quoted has imidacloprid(which a synthetic that mimics nicotine). But, if it were the only solution, I would weigh each bird and divide the dosage accordingly. That stuff is generally sold by the weight of the dog.
