Thank youI have just been going through this but with mites. Clean out your coop then spray it with Permethrin, inside and out. Let it dry and then put back in your chips or other materials you use. Then at night collect each chicken and dust them each with a Poulty Dust to take care of Mites and Lice, make sure to read the directions. Tractor Supply had GardStar Garden and Poultry Dust that I used. Sure did the trick on Mites.
Good Luck!
Thank you!@Idrchickens Great pic of the louse. Here's a link that might help you ID the lice if you have a magnifying glass:

I will be going with either that or the dust whichever i can find at the tractor supply. So basically either way i go i need to coat the chickens and everything they come in contact with or just their hen house? Will they get infected again once they get back in the yard?If I had an actual outbreak of lice (which is what is in your picture—good job on photo,) I would use permethrin 10 spray or the garden dust. Because you will need to treat all chickens at least 2-3 times7-10 days apart to get the lice and the newly hatched larvae, empty out all bedding from coop and nests, and spray the entire facilities before adding new bedding, I would go with permethrin, a safe product for chickens. The Martins or Gordons Permethrin10 in the pic below is mixed 37 ml per gallon of water, or 9.25 ml per quart bottle sprayer. A pint sells for $8 at TSC, and quart about $16.
Sulfur powder will help as a preventative, but even sulfur can be toxic, so just do more reading.
