Eva thought for a second, before shaking her head. She asked curiously “Banished? From what?” She parted her hair as it usually was, before looking up at him again, readjusting her glasses too.
Lucas watched her. Not sure if he should say, he paused, but decided he could say since she was a Ave now. "Banished from most of our people. One of our new leaders- River, my sister- was on guard duty and didn`t notice a hunter slip by her. That hunter killed our old leader`s wife, and escaped. Our old leader banished her and ten others, all birds of the night. We are called The Banished."
Eva nodded in understanding. They didn’t live in the big mansion with the others. She was unsure of what to say, so she addressed her primary fear:Horius. Eva asked, fear in her voice “You...live...with Horius?”
Lucas sighed. "Unfortunately, yes. We don`t approve of his behavior. I think River is going to try and make him stop, but I`m not sure. The only ones who act fine with him is Xylo, Hector, and Stephen. Xylo doesn`t like what he does though, and Hector and Stephen don`t either I think."
Eva couldn’t possibly live with them. Horius would kill her, and she had no form of defense. She supposed this is where she said goodbye. Not knowing what else to say, she embraced him once again, resting her head against his chest, showing her appreciation. She whispered in a delicate voice “Thank you for saving me.” Blushing, realizing she hadn’t introduced herself yet, she added in the same tone “I’m Eva by the way.”
Lucas looked down at her. "It was no problem. I wouldn`t let you just die." He smiled. "Eva is a great name. I`m Lucas. Lucas Fleur to be exact."
Eva blushed at his compliment, before replying softly “And Lucas is a great name too. Along with that last name.” She didn’t know when to stop hugging him, but for now, it seemed like they both enjoyed it.
"Thank you." Lucas said, still hugging her. He suddenly felt a pang of worry, he had saved the girl, but would she just die? "Where are you planning to go? You can`t go back to the humans, they`ll kill you. And... do you know how to fly yet? I was born an Ave, so I don`t know if when you turn into one if you instinctively know how to, or if you have to learn."
Eva stepped back and flew around a bit to show him she could fly. She smiled at her first time off the ground...it was breathtaking. Once she landed, she looked at him meekly and explained “I don’t have anywhere to go.” Eva realized it was most likely not a good idea to hang around Horius, but than again, what if he found her? She offered “I could just live out here. I would have to make weapons and gather food, but that works if need be.”
Lucas sighed. "There`s some caves around here. I would offer you to come stay with the Banished, but there`s the Horius problem. Then again, you would be safer at the cabin because of the others, and they could protect you against him, since he could just go invisible and track you down if you go somewhere else and nobody would know."
