Xylo’s Heart ached as she turned stiff, after a try to display affection. She was all he had left other than himself and his own grievances. Horius was gone forever. Xylo tried to be sensible at her apology, his demons telling him to rip her apart, tell her what she had done. That’s what she deserves, they thought.
But Xylo showed mercy, and responded quietly “It’s fine. What was there between Horius was doomed to die anyway.” He admitted in an even quieter voice “But it meant a lot to me when it was still alive.” He turned around and sat down on his bed, facing her. He added, in a voice barely above a whisper because maybe he didn’t want to admit it, “You’re all I have left.”
