Persepolis nodded, smiling, "It's okay. I'm not very good at taking jokes. Especially about that." Persepolis listened to Luna speak, inwardly relieved that she didn't have any issue talking about what had happened. When Xylo asked if there was anything more, she responded simply, "Not that I can think of. What was it you wanted to tell us?"

Xylo nodded at her comment, making a mental note of it, and responding “I’ll remember that.” Once Luna have no indication of wanting to say something else, he began explaining. He made it simple and fact-of-the-matter, he had to let them know in a serious manner. He made sure he had both of their attention, before stating simply “I’m pretty sure River’s pregnant. Just wanted you two to know, so it isn’t a surprise, and we’re both open to questions.”

Luna’s expression turned into one of wonder. Children were one of the sole things that forced her out of her coldness, and she was elated, simply put. She remembered playing with the baby Aves back at the mansion, acting as a babysitter for so many of them. With a genuinely happy smile, she replied ecstatically “Congratulations! I’m so happy for you two.”

She loved babies, though. Children brought happiness to her. Children are one of the few things Persepolis truly wanted in life. She added kindly, "Let me know if you and River need anything, okay?"

Eva smiled, before asking amusedly “You couldnt tell them to be quiet? They probably wouldnt listen, I’m assuming.” She looked up at the birds, finding their chirps much preferable to what seemed to be millions of voices.

"Oh, believe me, I`ve tried. They don`t listen." River said, rolling her eyes at the birds.

Eva laughed happily, glad to have a conversation with River. She asked softly, changing the subject, her expression timid, “So, what does Lucas like to do? Like, in his free time, if you could share.” She wanted to get an idea of a date she could take Lucas on.

Luna was elated as well, and could barely contain her excitement. As they walked into the woods to look for the hunter, she exclaimed “This is going to be so cute! They’re so cute and...” Her voice trailed off, too excited to continue.

River shrugged. "He has the power of shapeshifting, so he practices that, and he likes to study nature so that he can imitate things better, and he also trains... And sometimes he just sits and watches sunsets or sunrises. Why?"

Eva responded, trying to sound normal but coming off as somewhat embarrassed, “I’m just trying to think of something to do with him.” She didn’t know if she should be asking her this, she was her leader, after all. But she wanted to know, because she wanted to spend some time with Lucas after this.

Persepolis exclaimed happily, "I'm so excited for them! They make a great couple. Plus, I love kids." Persepolis added distantly, "I want to be a mom someday." She kept her guard up, despite being excited. She didn't want to risk someone sneaking up on them.

Luna smiled when she heard her friend thought the same way. She replied with a smile, admitting quickly “Same here, I’d love to have kids one day. That’d probably break all the coldness left in me, you know.” She fantasized at that thought, not being cold-hearted anymore, replaced by being loving to her children and partner. It seemed like a distant dream to far to achieve. After a few more minutes of talking, Luna noticed a small campfire two hundred yards ahead, a figure sitting by it. She pointed to him, asking in a whisper “Is that him?”

Persepolis was glad that children could break Luna's coldness. She voiced this to Luna. When she saw the man at the campfire, Persepolis stopped, placing a hand on Luna's shoulder to stop her as well. Persepolis noticed the man's bandages and she recognized his appearance. She whispered, "That's him." She discreetly clicked the safety on on the gun she was going to give him. She whispered to Luna, "do you want the other gun? And how should we approach him? Both of us or just me with you covering me?" She slowly wrapped her wings around herself, using them to camouflage her figure.
