Lies and Deceit - A Fantasy RP

Luna went back into the cabin and downed a whole glass of water before she served another two, one for her, and one for Persepolis. With a smile to Hector as she passed him, she returned to Persepolis, setting the cup she hadn't used down next to her gently, so that none of it spilled. With a soft sigh, she took her cup and began sipping it, before asking with an entertained smile, "Want a wet towel to clean your hands as well?"
Persepolis wiped her hands on the grass. Responding with a small laugh she said, "No, thanks. I've still got to finish the job anyway. Besides, I've got another method of cleaning off my hands." With that, Persepolis walked a few feet over to a patch of small, clover-like plants. She picked a handful of them and returned to the glass of water. She poured a very small amount of water on the plants in her palm. Setting the glass down, she then rubbed her hands together, crushing up the plants. A lather formed and she rubbed the natural soap over her hands. She used a little more water to rinse them. Finished, she downed the rest of the glass of water.
Persepolis picked the knife back up and continued working on the deer. She cut the skin around the legs that were strung up and started pulling the skin down, skinning the deer.

Xylo whispered gently as they walked, "I promise that never will something like that happen to you or our child." His eyes were fierce, determined, loving. Xylo would easily lay down his life for her or her child, with no hesitation. He held her hand a little tighter as they walked, a sign that she could trust in him.
River nodded. "I know." She paused, unsure if she could continue. "The last child who depended on me..." Her voice drifted off. "I'm just... Worried about how we're going to take of them." She glanced down, then back up at him. "And I guess I'm a little dazed still." She whispered.

(At some point it should probably be established whether or not Aves usually have single or multiple births. I'd guess multiple since they are part bird and birds tend to raise clutches/several chicks.)

Luna asked softly, after quite a bit of hesitation "Hey, Persepolis, is it ok if I leave you here for a bit? Unless you need me help. I wanted to take a walk in the woods." With a sheepish smile, she added, "To go see if that hunter was around." Luna blushed slightly as she waited for an answer, hoping that Persepolis wouldn't judge her too hard. She emphasized "If you need help I'll wait and maybe go later."

Xylo sympathized with her rough past, squeezing her hand gently as they walked to display that. With a quiet voice, he asserted "We don't know how we're going to do it because we've never been parents before. No parent knows what to do before they actually have a child." He added assuredly "But I do know you're going to be the best mother I'll ever have seen. You're strong-willed, patient, caring. Just to name a few traits."

(Yup I'd say multiple children are more common, where Aves can have up to 1-5 children. Not too many because they are still part human. Two and three children is the norm.)

Persepolis looked at her smiling, "Nah, I'm good. You go find that Romeo of yours. Or, Alec, as he's called." She stuck her tongue out at Luna, making light fun of her. She added protectively, "Just be careful, okay? You've got your weapons? Here, take your knife back. I'll use my machete." She handed Luna her knife back.
While Persepolis waited for an answer, she cut off the hide at the neck of the deer. She then sawed off the deer's head with her machete.
