Deb, there is not a dang thing wrong with hoping. In cub scouts we had shirts that read Attitude is Everything. Well after 4 years preaching this every week to the boys I have myself convinced. We can't just say it, or wear it, we gotta live it. So you just keep hoping and praying and we will do the same. Hugs for you both.
Ok so this is the one I was thinking but could not remember word for word so I started searching Jeremiah 29:11. I have this on a list of bible verses I usually keep on my desk top ( someday when my computer is all fixed it will be back) and I turn to it often.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
I don't want you to see this next verse as being negative dear. Its just I saw it while looking for a specific verse and I had to share it.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Thanks. After Ken's revelation today, and our subsequent trip to church, I am hoping this was God's way of getting his attention and his diagnosis will completely go away. Hey, a girl can hope.....
