Light Sussex Thread!!!

I purchased a pair at 13 months old. They are from Australian line. The rooster weight only 9.5lbs, which is lighter than I expect. Will see how the offspring turn out next year.

Thanks. That's good to know. I thought they are should be around 12+ lbs.
 
Hi from Ga. Make sure you don't get confused with the American compared to the Australian. Americans get to 8#s for the rooster and the Australian get to 12#s for the rooster. Some of my roosters were close to 12#s in 7 to 8 months and others take much longer. If you feed them a high protein feed they will grow faster. They are magnificent birds.
