I'd say rooI hope some of that raise Light Sussex can help me. I incubated this one lone Light Sussex. It is now 14 weeks old. All along I thought it was a female because I saw other photos of light sussex hens that had red combs and waddles. This chicken had very thick legs and is quite large. I would so appreciate any help on sexing this pretty baby. If it is a rooster I have a home for it but the person wants it right away so he incorporate it into his other 14 week old girls. I appreciate any and all help.![]()

I am in north west Florida. I have Lights, Corinations and Light /Corination Splits. Not sure where you are located. But I do have birds for sale!I'm interested in getting light and buff Sussex but have not found any sources in the US.
Does anybody know of such a hatchery or breeder?
(It would probably have to be chicks, since I don't trust my skill level with hatching eggs.)
Didn't know if you knew but the American Sussex Association has a facebook page and is accepting new members!Does anyone know where I can get some Sussex Poultry Club yearbooks? Mrs. Gage was getting some for me, but we lost touch about a year ago. I am esp. interested in any with articles on my variety, Light Sussex. I have birds from a pure English strain imported from Canada years ago. I got them from the flock owner in the western US. I am so excited to have these birds. I alsow ant to join the Sussex Poultry Club but never hear back from anyone when I ask about it. Ideas?
Best,
Karen
