Lighter-than-air pan rolls

They are especially good with Honey Butter

I had some when I made them the other day warm with Honey Butter, awesome!

Do you mix your own honey butter? If so, can you give the measurements to use? please..........

I really didn't use measurements, just kind of winged it.
Softened a stick of butter, added a little honey and stirred.
I used a local honey, but it tasted , just not quite right so I had some sugar free honey and I added some of that until I had a taste that was good.

Katy - these are AWESOME!!

I changed the recipe a bit by using half shortning and half butter, making it 1 cup total.

and 2 thumbs up to you for this recipe. I've tried 3 others and they were very heavy - these are as close to restaurant yeast rolls (like Ryans and Sizzler) as I've found yet.

Katy these are fantastic!!! I have made these 2 times, today I made them with 1 cup whole wheat and I lowered the sugar to 3/4 cup. I shaped them into 12 hamburger buns and a loaf. SOOO good.

Glad you liked them. I've made them with 1 cup of whole wheat flour too a few times which I like, but the rest of my crew likes them with just white flour so that's usually how I make them.

Bumping this up because I baked these rolls this weekend.

I am no baker and my bread generally comes out so-so...
But these came out Dee-Lish!
I used hints from several of you who posted on this thread:
*subbed about 1/3 whole wheat flour
*cut the sugar to 3/4 cup
*shaped into 6 good-sized hamburger buns (1/2 recipe)

Now I wish I'd made the whole recipe so I could freeze the extras!
They also toast great.

Katy,

I got a Kitchenaid for Mother's day and I have been trying to figure out what I was going to make for the FIRST TIME in it. I am going to make these tonight!
