little giant 9300

I candle mine right through to day 17 and my turner turns mine until I stop it at day 18. Out of 16 eggs I only had 3 that did not hatch and all three made it to day 20/21.

That's awesome! I also had a hard time keeping the temperature in a good zone with the 9300 and the turner, that darn probe moved around, I have it taped to a golf ball this time. This batch I have going now had a rough shipment, the box was completely caved in on one side. Last candling I have 19 eggs developing out of 26, 4 were clears the rest quitters and one was cracked. Here's hoping we end up with the rest hatching day 21 is 12/23.

I now have the fan kit. I set mine on 99.5 and left it alone. I will open it on day 18 to remove the turner. I will not add any water ever. I set 39 dec 12 for the new years hatch along..(a day late). I will not chase temps or worry about humidity...

Im letting the clear plastic thingy do whatever it wants to do. Im not candling at all. If i see a leaking egg i will remove it. I have both red plugs out.

What are you going to do with that darn probe once the eggs start to hatch? I have 2 pipped, and still don't have a plan for that dang thing!! I tried folding the plastic sheet and tucking it into the slots on the heater, but that read the temp WAY to high (107.0) and of course it wouldn't trigger the heat to come on. I'm afraid the chicks will get all caught up in it if they move around close to it once they hatch. I could pull an all nighter and babysit them.....but!!

That's another thing I'm scared of with shipping, rough handling. I'm suprised (but glad) you have 19 good ones! Good luck with them!

Yes they do trip around it, last time I placed it on the floor to the back, that was not good heat spiked up. This time I'm leaving it taped to a golf ball, and I'm going to hatch in cartons , another tripping hazard, so it will be in a slot. They don't seem to get hung up on it though, it's just if they move it then you have temp problems.

You're brave! I'd be tempted to add a bit of water if that probe reads high over 60 plus means the humidity is most likely in the 20's and with the fan you have extra dry power now.
Good luck and keep us updated!
