Are you using the right channles?#1 for setting, and #2 for hatching, and other 3 as needed for where you live.

OMG, I had all of the channels filled after first external pip and could not get the thing above 60%. These were muscovy duck eggs. I had to assist the two that did hatch.

Only 0ne gives me close to 50%. the gennis says 55% to 65% and no more.I know a lot of people use higher, but I'm going by directions

two hatched today and one more in cooker drying out.

They are pretty. Good luck with the one still in the cooker.

Hi, this will be my first time hatching eggs and I am using 9300 little giant with egg turner and my own themo. I am setting it at 95.5 and humidity is at 50 percent but I haven't put water in it yet. Do you think they are safe to put it also what should the humidity be that is the part I am having questions with if it's low how much water do I add and if it's to high what do I do to lower it? Sorry for the dumb question but I want to have healthy chicks. Thank you.

Do you have a still air or forced air incubator. Humidity readings are not always accurate on the styro-foam incubators. I would suggest you use a second hygrometer. 50 is a bit high to start but I would wait to see with the second hygrometer says before making any adjustments. There is no 'magically set' number for humidity. You need to consider the environment as well and adjust humidity accordingly.

Be sure to check out this article https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/hatching-eggs-101

Good luck

It is a still air. Should I just wait and buy the hygrometer before I put eggs in? I have heard the incubator I have can show the wrong temp and humidity quite often.

A day or two won't matter if you put them in now. Still air incubation temperatures should be set to 101° to 103° The suggested 99.5° is for forced air incubators. The reason for the higher temperature is because the still air incubator has temperature layering because the air is not being moved by a fan. I would go with the lower end 101.5 is what most people use I believe. I have forced air. I would get an extra thermometer as well. Make sure they are calibrated.
