he really great! I got him from a friend of mine who found him in the morning, she say mother and other chicks must of got killed :<
She knew I wanted peafowl so she gave me Little Pea, I want to say he must of hatch around Aug 6-8?

Hi EvyCrystal,
welcome-byc.gif
Can you please send me the photo of opened wing of your peachick, this help me find the date of birth of your peachick, by growth of primary flight feathers, and size of feathers. Would be good idea to put the ruler near your peachick's wing, so I will pinpoint the date of birth.
A newly hatched peafowl have juvenile flight feathers @ less than 50 mm. Also I'd like a photo of your peachick today, please.
If it is male, its throat & chin will stay creamy white until 15 months old when become mottled with blue feathers.
At 19 months old the male peafowl's throat & chin are entirely blue.

Your peachick is growing fast and at 2 months old, it will be duck-sized, and reach fully size at 1-year-old, but smaller than adult peafowls.

Your peachick appreciate insects to eat, for growth and bones.

Peafowls are wonderful interesting huge birds, with colourful train (tail feathers)...remember wee brown chick can grow into huge colourful peafowls and one bird can change colours.

I am working on moults of peafowls.

Do you keep Little Pea in the house with you? Are you kinda like it's mom now? I ask cause I've been considering purchasing one and only one peachick. I have two peahens but they are much older. I'd like to add a peacock to the bunch but i'm a little worried about raising just the one. I wouldn't put it with the others until Spring or Summer probably. I'm interested how your lone Little Pea is doing. Maybe I'll be a pea parent soon myself? It's adorable and Little Pea is a great name.

Right now he is in the nursery pen with a older Peachick and 15 Chicks. When I first got him I kept him in a nice warm box with his lamp. I got lucky when I got him, I had chicken eggs going to hatch and Little Pea was giving to me at the right time! But I did kept him in a different box from the chicks, I learn that a Peachick will get attached to you. He reminded me of a puppy or kitty LOL! He always wanted to be with me, he would follow me or just hang out on my shoulder. I really really enjoy having and raising a Peachick. They are very lovely and cute and you can see how much they really love you. It make me sad when he makes that lonely sound D: trying to call me when I put him bk in the box cause I needed to go somewhere or I need to get things done. But right now he is happy in the nursery pen with all his friends :3 and growing happy! Little Pea just stay inside till my chicks were big enough to go outside :3 Than I got lucky again and got a older Peachick to be his peachick friend LOL! I still need to name the new peachick.
