Researchers have found that lowering temperatures will prolong incubation,​

HOWEVER it is favourable to do so at the end of incubation. ​

Day 19 & 20 Temp Min 98.0 Max 98.5​

Day 21 Temp Min 97 Max 98.0​

Yes it does say they create their own heat.... wouldn't the thermostat just make it shut off and not work as hard?

You guys make it somehow sound less scary.

And I marked air cells last night (when I should have locked down). They seem maybe day 14 size, That would stink if I had great life in the incubator and everybody drowns.

Honestly, after watching several broodies hatch eggs last summer, I don't worry near as much about anything during incubation any more.

On day 26 should I be expecting a pip yet or is it still too early? One of them have internally piped already yesterday morning and I was told that there's 24hrs between internal and external pips

I'd look for an internal pip, but maybe not an external. (I speak in generalities here, someone on the forum had a hatch on day 25 just within the past week IIRC.)

I hear clicks in side the shell all seems well and has internally piped

in this photo it is clear that the duckiling had enternally pipes and is past the air cell line I recorded on day 25

You may want to research making a "safety hole", just in case it doesn't break the shell soon.

Yes, movement is always a good sign!

Peck on the incubator, shine your light across the egg real quick, back and forth. Even try playing videos of chicks chirping. Anything to get reaction from it is good.
