Long, narrow egg consistently coming from one hen. Past eggs were normal!

My boyfriend asked me to post this because he hears me talk about byc all the time!

One of his hens use to lay normal looking eggs, and all of a sudden they started getting very long and narrow. They still have a nice sturdy shell, the shape is just changing. Any ideas on what could cause this or if there is something wrong with the hen?

It happens, What would one do about it anyhow?

I can say this, the shape is normally consistent, but I've seen the shape go elongated for a while, then go back to a slightly more "normal" shape. I've also seen certain hens lays that torpedo for ever.
