Will look what I caught. I found him in my chicken pen this morning. with momma hen baeting him down in the ground. what kind is he. a cooper hawk is my guess. I set him free about 70 miles away told him he returned I'll shot him.

no his not dead. thats the way he laid why we tossed him in the kennel.

caught him in a net then tiped him in a crate. He did end up grab onto my sisters hand. though

only problem I think he was eating her chicks she hatched out four then they slowly started to disapper. shes got one left now. I don't think she was going to let him have it.

The colorings to me make me say a youngish Goshawk. Tough hen you have.

that is a Cooper's hawk. An adult female i do believe. The picts aren't great but it doesn't look dark enough on the back and top of head for a male and looks a little big for a male. Yes, the males are smaller in birds of prey.
