Oh no! It has the same acronym as Green Fire Farms! Trust me, those people are just trying to cheat you out of your money. You can’t count your chickens before they hatch.

Except that they’re not show quality. Show breeders pour more money into their birds than they get out of them, and you can’t show a chick or a mutt either! GFF is absurd! XD Breeders breed from only one 10th of their flocks and sell out of one 25th.
And I can’t sell a grown pair of bantam Buckeyes for more than 50!

I also dont care mich for production since i dont eat eggs. All my eggs either go to the neighbord for free, back to the birds or in an incubator

Well and the around 32 degrees I mentioned is the coldest it gets, period where we're looking to go. Lot easier than the -28 mine have to deal with now here. Heat concern is a much larger concern to me than the cold

Most breeds should be more than fine in those temps then and I would definitely tend to lean towards the lighter temperatures I think because of your summers.

I stuck to 8 for years and then last year I added 5 more pullets as my girls were getting older and then I got an incubator and hatched for the first time in November (got 8 boys out of 9 chicks ) and then also added more 9 chicks this April (got one boy) plus let a broody hatch in July and I hatched quail in June chicken math fully hit me LOL

I kept the girl and 2 boys from the November hatch but sadly no longer have them as I had to put 2 down and one randomly died.

Thankfully I have his chicks. Those are the ones I let the broody hatch. He died 2 weeks after they hatched.

2 ended up being boys plus My April cockerel lol

It was actually 12, 2 ducks and the rest of them chickens. Never had more than 3 duckos at a time- they’re a hassle!

I have kept myself from buying an incubator bc I know if I do I will tell myself I need to use it

im sorry you lost your babies, but at least you got a batch from your little boy before he passed away
