Did you ASK for the copy of the ordiance? Sometimes under PETS, there are restrictions on that. You might have to read line by line!

I used to be in Peoria County, lived in Brimfield. Loved it there!

Section 4.4 of the ordinances is pretty strict. It looks like I would have to find other like-minded people and try to change some minds on the city council - most likely a years-long process, unless I can find that someone/group has already started greasing the wheels...

well - there is no way they will know you have chickens if no one tells them.

How good are you in with your neighbors? Maybe if you don't have a rooster - you could enclose under the deck with privacy lattice & keep 2 or 3 under there? Its been done before.

the worst that can happen is they ask you to remove them. Or you could just tell them they are pets not livestock!

Better yet - if someone asks tell them they are exotic african song birds. Very expensive & rare pet!
