Hi Everyone,
I am new to the forum and soon to be a new chicken owner. We recently moved to Fairbanks Alaska and have about 3 acres and want to add some silkies to our family. We are looking for 2-4 little chicks. We can be open on the color but would prefer gray. We would really like to get hens but from what I have read online it seems like it is difficult to sex them at a young age. They will be PETS! We are planning on keeping them in a large pen in our heated garage at night. I work from home so I will let them out in our fenced yard duing the day and keep an eye on them.
Thanks,
Kelly

Welcome to BYC!!

I don't know if Triple D in Wasilla has silkies, but you might try calling Tori at Sterling Meadows Hatchery. She has had silkies and might be able to ship hatching eggs. A google search will turn up contacts for both places. Tori does not ship live birds. But if you are down during the summer you might be able to pick some up.
