LOS ANGELES county CA under bird quarantine :(

your post #1021 referred to watching TV

The news? Oh, so there's no truth in the news reports? Gotcha. I don't really consider that watching tv but ok...

If it eases your mind, I also read a lot news from the industry I work in. There are lots of articles about criminals getting financial awards from homeowners.

How are you guys doing? Has the CDFA changed the way they conduct themselves when it comes to euthanizing poultry?
The killing has stopped they are still under quarantine and doing alot of testing. However the testing squad recently stepped on two baby ducks that were in the bushes, one died immediately, the other a few days later. Their response was OOOPs human error and that was the end of it.

The last detected was June 4. As of July 4, CDFA has told residents that they would be testing only. Yesterday, a CDFA crew showed up at a residence outside of the city of Riverside and told the homeowners that the whole crew would have to be let inside to test--despite allowing other homeowners to bring birds to the gate themselves for test. When inside, they stepped on two two-day old ducklings. One died. The other is pictured below. They claimed it was just "human error." It resulted in this:

This duckling was still alive yesterday. Due to quarantine, the homeowners cannot move it including to an avian vet.
second baby died :(

So the ducklings were seemingly hidden and stepped on accidentally. It's very sad. I hope the ag workers apologized and no doubt there will be a financial reimbursement. But I'm curious what, beyond that, you would have the workers do?
