Well the U of M lab just told me the necropsy would be $73.75!!!!
My gosh i didn't think it would be that expensive and we are on a very limited income right now so i don't think i will be able to get it done

I wonder if it would be cheaper somewhere else. I really want to know what happened but at the same time we are barely hanging on to our house.

Try calling your local Extension Office and see if they can give you some leads. Through them, I was able to take my hen to the State farm lab and they did it for less. Can't remember how much, tho.

They reffered me to the university where it is expensive. There is an avian vet about 13 miles away, i'm gonna call them and see what they have to say. Believe me if i had the money right now she would have been dropped off immediately. It's gonna be a long day

Just my two cents...sorry for your loss.. I hate it when you don't know how to avoid it in the future. I have had that with peafowl..but not with my chicks yet. Not looking forward to it. Just remember we are all hugging you.
