Temps in the 90s for the next couple days so that will help. Your chicks should be just fine. I had one chick this spring (brooder was a large water trough with only 1 heat lamp in an unheated basement) that very rarely spent any time under the heat lamp.

Temps here won't be in the 90's for the next couple days. Mid-late 80's with thunderstorms until Sunday.

Cy, Don't give up on your eggs. I went more than 24 hours without power during one of my hatches and still got about an 70% hatch rate.

You need a good old fashioned style oral thermometer. Do you ever take your own temperature?

I do, but I have a scanner type.

Seems I need to put together a chick emergency pack. Didn't have one, because this is the first time I've lost power with birds too young to regulate their own temperature.

You need a good old fashioned style oral thermometer. Do you ever take your own temperature?

Or a good food thermometer...I got one of these and never needed another either in the kitchen or the incubator room.
