Lost the cutest baby chick...

We had hens set on two nests...out of 20-something eggs, only 3 hatched. It seemed to take forever, and the last one - the cutest little chick ever - hatched and was a few weeks old today. I went to check on the flock, and she had been killed. Her wing feathers had been ripped out and she was motionless on her back. I have no idea what happened, and am just devastated.

If you go down to the predator and pest section, there is a sticky thread on telling what type of predator killed your chicken. I would guess a puppy or very playful dog. Either way I am sorry.
