Terri, I think I will carry my recorder outside with me to record the peas. They are making some "unnatural" sounds. I have NEVER in my life could have even imagined them making these noises. I'm shocked every time I hear a new sound.![]()
Strange - mine are making the usual mating calls that I haven't heard since last year - wonder what's going on w/yours?
how cool is that?!?! I bet you were glad it was babies and not wasps!
I was just going to ask if they have gotten into the wineToo much fermented grapes?![]()
I will have to record them and send you the link so that you can hear these WILD sounds.![]()
This is just too darn cute!! My dog is too busy trying to herd the ducks to cuddle with them

Since the nest was made inside a grill, my first guess would be Wren, second would be Starling... but they all look the same to me at that age. LOL.
I agree with the others. This is amazing. Thank you! You guys don't forget to click the thumbs up "ovation" button.
Quote: Thanks! I setup my first batch of ff over the weekend. It's started bubbling a bit. Should be ready to feed the girls.
I recently 'semi-retired' so I do have much more time than before and I only have 5 chickens. While I love the thought of the savings on feed cost and the health benefits of ff, I wouldn't be able to keep up with it if I were still working the hours I used to.
I have this mental picture of the gosling just sitting there, rocking and rolling the day away!!I had an unexpected surprise today. One of my sebbie goslings hatched while on the rocker in my incubator. By the time I noticed, it had hatched and was all fluffed up and cute. It was sitting patiently on the rocker waiting for someone to do something.I had it scheduled to hatch on the 20th. I'm not quite sure what happened. I must have mismarked the egg because I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't have hatched this early. Sometimes, it seems that even though you do everything according to plan things just don't pan out, other times, they'll hatch no matter what you do to them. Mother nature..., you gotta love it!![]()

Very cool!!!
I'm sure she had her reasons for doing that but I can't imagine what they were.how cool is that?!?! I bet you were glad it was babies and not wasps!
I found a nest of barn swallows over the weekend...... The nest was under the porch overhang at the old woman's house that I work for on the weekends. I made the mistake of telling her I found a bird nest... This old woman actually followed me out to the porch and told me to knock down the nest and she would watch me do it (she knows that I would have just told her I did it). After arguing with her for a few minutes, I told her that if she wanted it down, she could knock it down and handed her the broom. She is a little frail 89 year old lady, but she sure as heck took that broom from me and batted that nest like it was a pinata. I went back in the house to finish up my "list of chores". The next thing I know, she's yelling at me to come help her because there were babies in the nest!! She had knocked the nest down and was hitting the babies with the broom!!!
Needless to say, I told her that I was done. I quit there on the spot! I cried the whole way home and most of the night. I guess I'm just too soft hearted, but I felt like she was out of line!![]()
I most certainly would have quit, too! Crazy lady.how cool is that?!?! I bet you were glad it was babies and not wasps!
