Lovin' the chicks.

View attachment 1839920 Wow, that's a lot of chicks to start with! You'll be getting about 10-12 dozen eggs a week when they mature... you could start an egg business too! I think all those babies will outgrow that brooder bin I see in your avatar in about a week or two. Good luck with a quick coop remodel and getting them outside soon!

Thank you very much!! They were only in the black bin for a few days while I put together a larger brooder. :) They definitely wouldn't fit in there now!!
I told my partner that we'll have lots more friends once these chickens start laying. Lol I do want to learn about the ins and outs of egg selling.
Thanks again!!

Awesome!
I wish I had more space to have more chickens and sell eggs. I had a few extra dozen that I sold at a garage sale for $4 each (where stuff was supposed to be cheap!) I know I could have some regular customers, but alas.... tiny suburban lot

What a great time to be in the egg business too! haha
Short update.
My original chicken family has grown in size and shrunk in number. The dozen per day prediction has held very true! We have learned a lot in terms of chicken facts-of-life since last summer!
I am very pleased with my kindly legbar rooster.
The Black Marans Roo --- not so much. We're hashing out some issues. He may become coq au vin some day soon.
Still loving them all and expanding our flock hard core this spring with 18 chicks in the brooder.
We built a second coop in the same corn crib and 2 of those 18 were hatched in my very own kitchen!! That was very exciting.
