Pics
Here is an up close pic of one of the drakelets I saved back. Anyone happen to know what color he is? When he was born, he was completely yellow. Now he looks somewhat lavenderish. The only thing is, I don't know how he could be lavender because I've never had lavender Muscovies before and I read that you can't get lavender Muscovies unless they're parents where lavender or had lavender in them. Perhaps many, many years ago his ancestors had lavender genes and he just happened to get it. I don't know, but what I do know is he is a very beautiful drakelet and I can't wait to hatch ducklings from him!

He's silver, a blue with two blue genes, it'll dilute the black to a very light grey color. He's gonna look somewhat like Titan here, though he seem to have some white areas as well. Pretty boy! :love
He'll produce blue offspring with a black mate, and silver and blue with a blue mate.

Wow! Thank you soooooo much for telling me!!! I've always wanted silver Muscovies! I am so excited to see what he looks like when his feathers are all the way grown in! I think he'll look similar to the drake in the pic, maybe with a little more white.

Is that one of your drakes? He is so absolutely beautiful!!! :love:love:love

I have been very busy so I haven't been able to post about it, but on Tuesday, June 16th, 2 of my broody Muscovy hens hatched 23 adorable ducklings! I'll have to get pics of them one of these days if I get a chance.

Another one of my broody hens that already hatched a clutch year is broody again, too! I think she has somewhere around 16 or 17 eggs if I remember right.
I keep telling her that she should start sitting on the eggs full time and stop laying more, because I know she can only cover so many, (as if ducks understand English)! :gig
I kinda think she started sitting full time today, so we'll see. Hopefully she is!

Happy duck raising and hatching to all of you!
Have a blessed weekend! :)
I just noticed that I said the ducklings hatched on June 16th instead of July 16th! What in the world was I thinking??? :idunno
