Great thread! I have two Muscovy hens that are 10 months old. My husband adopted them as ducklings after my Rouen’s best buddy died, leaving her alone and inconsolable. The girls first introduction to Daphne went poorly as they chased her around the barn at top speed, trying to bite her with great enthusiasm. Hence, they became known as “The Goons”.

“Goon 1” is my white Muscovy. She is the calmer of the two, and she bonded more closely with Daphne than her sister did. “Goon 1” is horrible at flying and worse at landing. She prefers to walk places with Daphne. She also loves to bathe and get beautifully white and then lie in mud moments later. She has not yet started laying.

“Goon 2” is my black and white pied Muscovy hen. She is tiny and feisty. She never stops chatting about whatever is on her mind. She is very independent and she loves to take short flying trips, although she never leaves her friends for long. “Goon 2” just started laying about 1 and 1/2 weeks ago and is working on finishing her first dozen!

Both girls are very bonded to each other, although they went through a rough teenage period during which they wouldn’t stop biting each other or Daphne. Thankfully, that passed! Anyways, they are great little ducks!

I am a fairly new muscovy owner. I got my babies in December last year. I have absolutely fallen in love with this breed. Alice is about to hatch her eggs and I just cant wait!! Now I honestly dont know the names different colors so if anyone wants to help me out that would be great! That's Momma & Snowy

This is Ora which is Claire in Hebrew. I named her after my middle name because I really like it. This is the same duck as the one pictured in my avatar. Sometimes her and Lilach go broody and hatch eggs together. You would think they would fight over it, but they actually do really well hatching eggs together. She was born in 2016 and is a Blue Fawn Muscovy. Ora is a good little barvaz (duck). View attachment 1725550

This is my goofy drake Opie he will be 8 yrs old June 2nd I have had Muscovy since June of 2004 when I adopted a Muscovy drake from our mt river below our home. Opie is his son.

Thank you! I will have to find a picture of her covered in mud, which is how she is a lot of the time! Or, she will poop and then sleep in it overnight . She spends half of her life looking elegant and the other half looking like a swamp thing!

That's hilarious! My ducks like to turn puddles of water into mud holes and then submerge their heads completely in mud! Muscovies are SO silly! Gotta love em!
