Geez, am I the only one with a regular old desktop computer? Everyone seems to have laptops (from the pictures on this thread anyway)...I feel like such a dinosaur.

We have one of each. I use DH's laptop most of the time since it is in the kitchen but I use my desktop for printing and such. The desktop has a much faster processor but it is back in the spare bedroom and I like being out in the kitchen where I can hear the bator and the humidity pump doing it's job.
BTW I just had to add that at dinner last night DH "quietly" admitted that this whole hatching "thing" is kinda exciting! I think I might be pulling him over to the "dark side"
Well, had my first sleepless night regarding these newly set eggs!
We're having some freezing rain/heavy snow warnings with threats of accumulation on branches and wires. Which just brings back the ice storm disaster for me lol.
So all night I was expecting the power to go out (i stoked the fire in the middle of the night) and freeze my lil eggies before they even got a chance to start!!
But no power outages last night
and anything that happens today is pie 'cause I'm wide awake and on the ball

Since I'm so far behind on this thread I don't know it anyone answered your question so if they did I'm sorry. If they didn't why don't you put the eggs in an egg carton. I have a small piece of wood I use under the carton and move it from one side to the other side to rotate them. It only takes less then a minute.

If you are in doubt, don't toss them until Day 18. It's pretty obvious by then. I've never pitched a developing egg, and yes, I open all my eggs.

The first time is horrible (but so exciting too), you worry about everything. You will be amazed the first time you candle and watching them hatch. It gets easier in time. I don't worry as much as I used to.

I'd go with the one on the brinsea. From what I understand about their products is their thermometer is calibrated at the factory, so it should be accurate.
You can comment on as many as you want. I'm going to comment on both right now!
I set 5 sizzle eggs yesterday at noon....so add that to your total. I'm trying to get by with the little brinsea, but now that I have some hatching I might add a few FBCM and EE's (olive eggers) and switch to the big cabinet brinsea. I also set 6 guinea eggs last saturday (since they take 28 days) and imagine my surprise that 3 look like they are developing! I'm sure they will be days early though. lol
Also in the incubator.....I took 4 silkie eggs off my first time broody who keeps sitting with the eggs in front of her
She started to set 18 days ago, but I kept finding her beside the nest, in front of the eggs etc....so I think we're on day 15? 13? maybe? Either way I should have fluffy butt pics in a few days to help pass the time till new years
