I thought we had to stay up all night staring at the bator(??) You're actually going to bed???? Aren't you afraid the temp might fluctuate .2 degrees??? Or the humidity plummet to 38.7%?

I PM'd you with my totals.

Good Luck everyone!

Just got home from X-Mas shopping and my incubators are PERFECT. I was fretting because yesterday when I was setting them they were all off and it had me so worried. I turned the knobs on one way too much and I have never seen the incubator hit those kinds of highs. All is well now. I did not set the turners on today but will set them tomorrow.

It is so hard to keep up.

Nancy

Sorry Mahonri, couldn't resist doing this. Just wish I had a freshly hatched egg to put in with it!
Figured we needed something to entertain us and pass the next 21 days by...

Filled out the form as best I could. Either I don't know the abreviations for them or the breeds aren't there.

Just want to say thank you to chicken stalker I have AMs, EEs and olive eggers.

Partridge Rocks, Delaware/New Hampshire and Cuckoo Marans from Lotsapaints.

Then I won some BCMs and Wellies on ebay. Didn't think my max bid (I mean really low) would win, but did and had free shipping and another auction that had no bids, but I got them for shipping after contacting the seller.

Here I was so worried about not being able to afford eggs and I have a lot of eggs to hatch. Hopefully I'll be able to do this for someone again too.

I fell a while ago and dislocated my shoulder, so. Then I fell again last night, so I haven't been able to work on the Sportsman. I'm going to try to do it during the week and then transfer eggs, but kind of thinking if I leave them in 2 separate bators I may have a better chance of getting them to hatch. Still debating, but when the throbbing stops, I'm fixing this thing so I can get used to it.

My brooders are always the ghetto brooders like Kathy's. I used to have some that my husband had built, but don't have them any longer. I like the boxes, because I can add one if I need to and toss it and start over later. Had to smile when Kathy said she uses the sawhorses. That's what I use too.

I haven't had a Marans egg hatch for me since April, so I'm hoping to see something good happen this time. After all, it's going to be a New Year, so since this year was so horrible in all aspects of my life, I'm hoping this hatch will be the start of a much better year.

Just got through editing POST #1 again.

You folks are making this a great hatch, 1,935 eggs set and accounted for.

G'nite. it's 12:12 on the 12th.

Okay I'm posting my egg count: 12 swap eggs and Donnie didn't say what they are (1 was cracked) 2 more turkey eggs but they wont hatch on New Years I already set 8 for this hatch, 4 Cuckoo Marans and 22 Indian Rivers I bet those aren't on the spread sheet they are Delaware rooster over New Hampshire Hens for a grand total of 46 and I still have room for more........I didn't get them in until 4:45 so maybe I'm on Hawaii time..if you know me stting them 5 hrs late isn't bad for me I'm always late.....

I had to add 2 more eggs..Delaware/meatie and 1 more Delaware/New Hampshire I couldn't help myself and I'm going to go look at my turkey eggs where is the box for turkey eggs anyways?

Wow, I finally got through all the posts.
Well ok, all of todays posts, and there is no way I am going to be able to read back through any thing else I missed.
I did manage to get the form filled in early today. I got 15 into the incubator at noon today. 2 eggs are from my bantam EE and probably covered by OEG roo but possibly a silky. She lays such pretty eggs, very close to a true blue. The other 13 are from mymixed standard flock. The dominant roo is a Spangled Sussex and the other is a Russian Orloff. The girls are EEs (2 eggs from these), Spangled Sussex, Black Jersey Giants, Barred Rocks, Dominiques and Russian Orloffs so I could get quite a mixed bag of chicks.

I need to find a thermostat with a much more narrow range though. The incubator I am using for lock down is my homemade one and has quail eggs in it now. They were due to hatch this morning and nothing yet, but I will give them a couple more days. It is swinging about 10 degrees (low of 93 and high of 102 on thermostat). I do have more eggs to move to it on Wednesday, so that means Tuesday to change it.
