Well I have a silky who says she wants to set now.....you think I can make her wait? I'd love to have a broody do the work..I had a Delaware think about it but she gave it up and I have a BC Marans considering setting right now too what's up this? Well I'll see if they're serious

OK desparate time leading to despartate measures

No eggs. I have 2 FBCM pullets that had bright red combs and no eggs. Fav pullets that aren't ready. If my games are laying, they free range and I haven't found their stash, my Davis girls aren't giving up squat, all my Polish are roos......my GN d'Uccle hen was laying and flew over a fench the other day and I haven't been able to find her. I have babies out of the brooder outside and 3 brooders going, so nobody ready there. None of the EEs are ready...hmmmmm what else do I have? AM pullet may be a roo! 6 months old and no saddle feathers, but who knows.

Last week at the auction they had probably 200 RIRs and they were laying in the cages. Lots of roo too. I bought no birds last week and there was plenty there, but nothing I wanted.

Monday I'm going and the first darn cage I see an egg in I'm bidding on. Don't really want RIRs, but other do and I think i'm going to buy something I can turn around and sell later, so depending on what they have and how much I have to spend I may be buying a few hens and at least another roo. OMG! I need to get rid of roos. OK 2 Silkie roos are going and I think my little bantam Lt Brahma.

Then my heating element went out on the Sportman so I'm ordering that tomorrow and hoping I can put it back together without completely ruining it.

With Christmas coming and the VA turning down Survivor benefits (but I'm not giving up) money is just too tight to order eggs. I need home laid eggs.

Should have bought the LF Favs last week that they had. They were laying too. I'm on a mission. My last hatch from the smaller bators is Dec 9. Not adding to those just in case I end up with a small amount of eggs

I just know that these free loaders are gonna lay on the 12th!

There's about 15 neighbors here that have chickens. Wonder if they notice if they were short a few eggs? It's not raining at the moment and I have a flashlight sitting right next to me.

wolftracks I think if you just ask your neighbors to donate eggs to your cause you won't have to do any "midnight aquisitions"!

I also know that Linda is in CA as well as you but I don't know how far away. I am sure that eggs can be found near you without any cost!
