You have Lavender Ameraucanas!?!?!?!? I want to buy some hatching eggs! I have FBCM eggs in the bator!

Happy Holidays, DaisyChick and all you other hatchaholics!

Idealistic Roo,
I do have lavender Ameraucanas but I just have my beautiful roo and one hen. And she is not the best layer

So I would love to get some more girls. I may have to get some dark Maran eggs from you soon, and when I can get more Ameraucana eggs I will hook you up!

It's the Postal Service I got some banged up eggs too but when I come over to Stockton I can bring you some more eggs to hatch in person and some better varieties as they should start laying soon....and I did have a good hatch of Blue Wheaten Ameracaunas maybe I'll have an extra girl that doesn't crow

It is funny isn't it. I live in town and I have a few chickens and everyone thinks I am strange. Then I find BYC and I see so many people with so many chickens and I begin to feel as though perhaps I don't have enough. It is funny how the company you keep can change your mindset. I am going to have to do some serious reining in on my desire to buy, buy, buy.

If you only have 3 Chickens ....you need to get Way Addicted so you can have a 100 ...like me!

Wolftracks - I hear you! I spent WAY too much on hatching eggs on ebay! I am well over $200 on just eggs and postage, not including "incubator necessities", like "parts" and the umpteen thermometers gracing my picture window on the front of the TVbator! I used to spend what little money I have on important things, like drinking and eating crappity fast food, now I stay home, drink water, eat healthy and watch my chicks!

I guess I have what most people call "dumb luck". ALL of my shipping eggs have arrived intact, and since I am a firm believer in recycling, I re-used both the packaging materials and the methods employed by me to send my E.E. eggs that I sold on Ebay.

One the buyers reported 1 smashed and another reported 4 smashed, but both left happy feedback! Not sure how they got smashed, I wrapped each egg individually, then placed them in a carton, then wrapped the carton, then placed the carton in the largest Priority Mail box!

Sincere wishes for ALL to have a great hatch!

Tried my hand at candling, but not having a ton of luck.

Of course, I've only got 5 white eggs to look at, the others being Marans and Ameraucanas. In those I can see the shadow of the yolk, that's about it.

In the 5 white silkie eggs, 2 definitely don't look right with too large sized air sacs in them and no sign of a dark spot, veins, or rings...all those things I googled pictures of. In the other 3, I see the yolk and nothing else discernable. One of those 3 has large pores in half the shell. So, I take it my chances of getting a silkie in this hatch are nil.

I have no idea on the other eggs. I can tell the blue eggs have the right sized air sac in them and I can see a hazy shadow of a yolk, but impossible to tell if there is veining. My Marans eggs are either too dark to see anything or too splotched with dark pigment to tell what is what.

So...I have 5 dud white eggs and a bunch that I can't tell.

Really REALLY hope something develops. 99 to 100 degrees, 45% humidity steady, no funny smells in the 'bator yet. Would just like to see a couple eggs that are definitely developing. *sigh*
