Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Huh, I missed the Miss Manners rule on gifts for ex-husbands, too. I got three of 'em. Ex-husbands, not gifts. Zero gifts for them. I gave at the....uhhh....no, well.... Too much as it was.

I only hope their current wives give them whatever the heck it is that they need. Mwwwaaahhhaahahahahahaaa

Up the humidity to what? Can you still drown them if it is too much? Do I need to open holes in the box so the chicks have some fresh air to breathe? If so, how do I adjust the heat so it doesn't go down too much if I shouldn't open the box? I'm using a styrofoam cooler.

It is Alton Brown's recipe for Free Range Fruitcake. Delicious and NO shiny candied fruits, all dried fruit and nuts. I just had a slice for breakfast with coffee, yum, yum. I made one for me, one for the ex, and one for my parents. I have to deliver that one today or my dad will keep calling all day asking about it.

Oh, and for those who went through bad divorces I am sorry. My ex and I just decided after 30 years of marriage that we had become just good friends. Our divorce was amicable. He kept his business, I kept mine. He kept his truck. I kept my car. He loved the house and furniture. I hated the neighbors. So I gave it all to him. I made a lot more money than he did, so I knew I would recover faster financially than he would. We used the same divorce lawyer. Paid him $250.00. We are still good friends and that was what made the whole thing easier for our grown children and now four grandchildren. We attend the same family gatherings and RV trips. He has remarried and seems quite happy. I will admit to being a little uncomfortable when I went shopping with his wife and she asked me to help choose linens for their bed!

I met Michael a couple of years after my divorce and we have been together 13 years. I am trying to beat his ex wife's record of 19 years! I am very competitive. I'll be 62 in January. There's still time!

Mary, you should have told her to get satin, just for fun. Then sit back and laugh at the thought of them sliding off the bed at inopportune times and the satin getting snagged on callouses constantly.

Just cuz you are friends, doesn't mean you can't have a little fun now and then.

My ex thought satin would be neat. I had to wear socks to bed, and never could find the covers in the middle of the night cuz they slid onto the floor.

Y'all are invited over for an Easter egg hunt today. There is so much water in the coop I don't think most of the hens are going to want to wade in to get to the nesting boxes. I put bricks down this a.m. in the muck to make them a pathway, but they didn't seem too amused with the whole situation. I usually build the berm up around the coop before a rainstorm, but, oops.

COOL! We'll have two Arizonans with Icelandics!

We'll be able to compare notes and perhaps give each other roos!
