Don't think this thread is going to need much "bumping" the next couple of days and Steve, it is not fair to bump so we get to 8000!
You're right , I figured there would not be much posting yesterday . I believe there was 6 pages to catch up on when I logged at 5 this mornin' . [ And I did read some yesterday ]

I have the same incubator and am in a really dry region. I took one of Kathy's hints and put the 1/2 cut up washcloth and then put half into the water channel and lay the other half on the side kinda like a wick. I have a humidifier running right next to the incubator and my highest humidity is 55% and it is holding steady. Hope all our efforts work.
OK officially in lockdown. Please someone confirm that the vent hole on the Brinsea Octagon should be fully open now? Just want to make sure I am doing this right. Also, could have sworn that I saw two of the eggs "wiggle" when I was transfering the eggs from the rails to the cut up egg carton. I don't know if it is wishful thinking or I really saw it but now I am excited for the hatch again!

Most of what I have left in the bator are from Speckled Sussex pullets , but they were under an Ameraucana unless that big CX got involved . ETA Scratch the CX out , back at that time he was in another pen , and judging by the clears I cooked for the dogs , very not involved

The humidity pump is keeping the humidity stable at 65% and temps are stable at 99.6 with the vent fully open so I am just going to leave it open all the way.
I put my eggs in lockdown.. 15 out of 24 still remain. Have confirmed that 14/15 are still alive and kicking, the last one is dark but I'm still unsure if it's a chick or a pending egg bomb.
FWIW, this is my fifth hatch in my Brinsea advance EX - I just take the rails out, lay the eggs flat, open the vent most of the way and set the humidity pump to 68%. (Was set at 40% until today). I so far have had great hatches for eggs that make it to this stage although last hatch I had two eggs that were too wet so I decreased my day 1-18 humidity to 40 from 42. Air cells look better this time.
Good luck to all! I probably won't win 'first chick out' unless no one gets a hatch between midnight and 4AM EST when I get up, as my head's hitting the pillow after the 'happy new year!' until 4 or 4:30AM.
