You're right , I figured there would not be much posting yesterday . I believe there was 6 pages to catch up on when I logged at 5 this mornin' . [ And I did read some yesterday ]

OK officially in lockdown. Please someone confirm that the vent hole on the Brinsea Octagon should be fully open now? Just want to make sure I am doing this right. Also, could have sworn that I saw two of the eggs "wiggle" when I was transfering the eggs from the rails to the cut up egg carton. I don't know if it is wishful thinking or I really saw it but now I am excited for the hatch again!

I think it depends on your humidity inside the bator for how open it would be above 1/3.

I put my eggs in lockdown.. 15 out of 24 still remain. Have confirmed that 14/15 are still alive and kicking, the last one is dark but I'm still unsure if it's a chick or a pending egg bomb.

FWIW, this is my fifth hatch in my Brinsea advance EX - I just take the rails out, lay the eggs flat, open the vent most of the way and set the humidity pump to 68%. (Was set at 40% until today). I so far have had great hatches for eggs that make it to this stage although last hatch I had two eggs that were too wet so I decreased my day 1-18 humidity to 40 from 42. Air cells look better this time.

Good luck to all! I probably won't win 'first chick out' unless no one gets a hatch between midnight and 4AM EST when I get up, as my head's hitting the pillow after the 'happy new year!' until 4 or 4:30AM.
