Pic of two.....other is in corner and can't get a pic
I do not use the auto turner

I hand turn usually.... Just use the trays to hold the eggs instead of using egg cartons. The paper cartons I have on hand seem to draw the humidity too much

Right there with you goochgirl. Not willing to give up though. I think I am going to get the spotcheck from Brinsea though before I try another hatch. I am pretty sure that my temps have been running low even though the bator has been reading 99.6 the whole time. I agree, digital to me = should read accurately. I probably won't bother with a hygrometer (sp?) tho. Seems like no matter what you do to get them calibrated, they don't work right. Lots of

Trying to catch up, but in the meantime glad to have read this post since my pip from last night hasn't moved since last night. Have another pip in there this am, though, and can still hear cheeping. Can't wait for someone to do something in there!

Congrats winners! Woop woop!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
First chick (eggs set 12/11/10 at noon) just popped out! It's a splash from a blue egg (can't read upside down shell, probably the pen with splash NNFGE roo over Ameraucana hen).
Repeat after me --- "Set Saturday, hatch Saturday..."

HOLD OUT HOPE!

I was getting worried, too. I just got up and had 8 pips from my Aloha eggs. 1 had finally hatched, but Mahonri's fully-zipped egg is still in the shell.

SO:

Mahonri- remember me mentioning when I candled all the Aloha eggs looked a day or two ahead of yours? I am suspecting the big bator was running a low temps, while the repti-pro was running on-temp. Since yours were obviously chugging along, I bet they will be a day or two slow. I am going to let them all run to day 25 juuuust to be sure.

Or maybe I will get antsy and start poking holes in them Sunday night. Hmmm: yeah, the latter is more likely to happen.

forced air.

So what is the deal? ????? In a forced air model 99.5 is perfect you were a little low, so they should be late, and you want to go poke them so they can dry out before it's even time for them to hatch?

Somebody tie his hands behind his back!!!!!
