I am still in,have had a day 25 chick very hatch, so won't give up yet.
They are all doing so well.

Thank you to everyone on this thread. It was a wonderful first hatch experience, despite our 1 out of 7 result. You were all wonderful and amazingly helpful and encouraging. It will be hard to do the next hatch without such a community and cloud of witnesses

And, while I'm at it.........how long until I worry about this little one not "getting" how to eat/drink? I've dipped her beak in the water, scattered the food around her and scratched at it (she seems to be more attached to me than the feather duster!)....she pecked at a piece this morning. I know she's fine for a couple more days on the yolk, so just wondering when I should start worrying about yet another aspect of her development.
