Sadly, I now qualify, as our baby died over night. I thought, several times, she'd die yesterday. I'd pick her up and she'd still be breathing. I was shocked last night when I finally got the kids down and had to run downstairs I heard her peeping. I didn't think she had the strength! She must have wondered what happened to all the commotion.

I'll guess 1836. Thanks for doing this CC!!

Sigh, I quit smoking a few months ago, I still miss it; smoking was like an old friend to me. I still enjoy the smell when I am around others who do, but when they changed to those plastic-laden FSC cigs I hated the taste.

My chick order arrived this morning! I think the post office lady was a bit surprised when she called and asked if she had reached our residence and I replied, "no, I am actually in the post office"! I got up early and went and staked out the post office so I could be there the second they called and thus get to work earlier!

I ordered the 25 pullet Surprise Special and I got 26! I think it is about 1/2 Barred Rocks and 1/2 RIRs, which is perfect because these are for resale as started pullets in a month! Last time I got a great mix, probably just as well there was not a mix this time, because I would be tempted to keep some of every kind!

My little hatchling is still doing ok, I saw it eating this morning! It sleeps a lot, but perhaps rest will help it heal. I moved its sibling into the brooder with the 26 other chicks so the jostling would stop. I left a stuffed animal and a fuzzy chick toy in the hospital tank for company. I quickly noticed that the sibling looked EXACTLY the same as the Barred Rocks, with a white dot on its head, so I put a leg band on it so I could differentiate it.

Both my bators are holding perfect temp and humidity, I hope to be over-run with chicks VERY soon! Hatches due on the 15th, 16th, 22nd and 26th! Wheeeeee!

Big 18th BDay party for my oldest grand daughter tomorrow. People arriving at airports, and driving out. I still need to pick up Makayla and Dakotah and I was a week off, so gotta find something to wear. LOL opps, Grandma shows up nakie again! It's at the only really big hotel Modesto has. LOL weeeee Makes me really miss the Bay Area. hehe
