Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Mahonri I'll show you pics of the eggs being packed tomorrow.

I gave the girls a big boost of protein, so I hope I gave it to them soon enough that I get one more little burst of production tomorrow before the eggs get shipped out.

If I keep getting enough production, I'll put some up on auction for anyone not doing the new year's hatch.

Some of those eggs look pink! I hope you have a great hatch!

Sorry I missed your post Kathy . No pink eggs , they do look that way due to the lighting , but I sure appreciate the well wishes for a great hatch .

Well my neighbors were excited about getting rid of the TV and stand. LOL

The youngest son asked them if I could have them and they were ready for me to take them today, but have a few things I need to do first.

I swear even that 7 yr old gave me a weird look and said "I know you can have it. I'll go ask!" Came back and said "come on I'll help you!" LOL

I've been collecting so much junk, they probably think my yard is going to start looking like "Sanford & Son."

Before I even asked about the TV stuff, I had passed what looked like a wooden crate on my way to pick my son up from school. It was on the side of the road by the RR trains across from a trailer park (not the greatest one in the world either). One the way back I first made a stop at the feedstore, cause they had 4 white Polish hens and I ended up buying 2. These were from a breeder. Lots of birds end up there. Then I went in the direction of the crate and my son is like "Mom where you going now?" Told him what I had seen and he got this look like "oh brother.'

I got lots of stares parking by that park while I ran across the road for what ended up being a small shelf unit. Two guys just stood up and watched the crazy lady picking up junk and driving off in a Jag. They had that HUH? look as I drove past them.

Don't these people know what you can do with a piece of junk? I thought it was a good find. Thinking bantam coop.

I have been having the same problem here in Colorado, because it has been SO dry!

I went to the pet store today and bought an "ultrasonic fog generator" for terrariums. It is the same thing used in some fountains with LEDs in them. I could have got it a lot less from some place that sells cheap fountains or parts, but this is a small town...

IT WILL TAKE THE HUMIDITY FROM 16% to 55% in 5 minutes! Then I unplug it and the humidity stays up and does not drop until I open the door again for the next turning.

If you get one, run distilled or filtered water, because minerals will build up and destroy the unit!

Now I'm just hoping all of my eggs get sent today in order to make it by Saturday!

I've got 25 of my own plus another 4 if I have room for them.

Depending on what I get, will help me decide which of my own stay out.

Please be kind to my eggs postal workers!!!

--------... I used to work for UPS back when I was in college and I know what happens to packages.

Thank you Mahonri , and I should have added that thanks to my early training in redneck technology , I now have a little piece of aluminum foil added to my internet card's tiny little antena and signal strength has been good ever since .

It's about an inch wide and 6 high , wraps around the antena and stands straight up , and looks very much like a shiney , silver feather with the quill at the bottom due to an uneven tear making the top more narrow .

OMG Steve I LOVE your redneck antenna!

I remember using tin foil and metal hangars to get better reception on TVs when I was a kid! The best thing of all is that it is working. Sometimes "low tech" works better than anything else!
