Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Well forget the early start , I went out to check the pens tonight and she was off the eggs and they were quite cold .

Get em into your bator!!!!

I'm afraid they got too cold , we had a high of 20 here today and dropping to single digits tonight .

daisychick WELCOME! Glad you'll be hatching on NewYearsDay with the rest of us!

My chickens that were supposed to be here in 24 hours didn't make it. I imagine they'll be dead if they ever get here now.

I should have had her insure it, oh well.

White buffs? I think a lot of people call buff Orpingtons simply Buffs, so I would guess they are white orpingtons?

Mahonri, my birds took two days, arrived hungry and thirsty, but fine.

I so hope you both are right. I've had chickens sent to me twice... both times from Jean(Ribbeck), both times they arrived within 24 hours... but I suppose WA state is much closer than MD.

All we can do is pray.

and hope I'm not crying tomorrow...

When I get home tonight, I will be candling the eggs I have in now at 10.5 days. Any of eggs I can say for sure are no good (new and wary of mistakes) I will toss and then I may have to try some barnyard mix eggs for this hatch. We'll see what I have room for.

Edited for bad typo
