Don't feel old, Steve. I am thinking I am the oldest one at this party.

Steve such cute chicks! Can't wait to get some too. This will be my first time hatching and so glad that there will be so many experienced people "holding my hand" while I go through this. I hope that I wind up with some cuties with muffs too! Just hoping that the pullet eggs I am getting from my SLW get big enough in the next week or so to set to see some really cute EE's. The Ameraucana pullets have been laying long enough for them to be regular sized and I am supposed to get some lavender Orp eggs to hatch. Hopefully they won't freeze in shipping.

I will try hatching in the dead of winter in Illinois...lol I must be crazy or going through incubator withdrawal!

Hubby will be so happy...a brooder to build and the loss of space in his shed for the brooder until spring...what a win-win situation for him...LOL

I suspect he loves having the chicks more than I do but HE would NEVER admit it.

Looks like it will be cochins I will be hatching...really wanted some brahma eggs but that didn't quite work out. I WILL get some dark brahma eggs in the spring, come hell, high water or tornados...LOL

Yesterday I saw my late blooming dark brahma roo breeding one of the hens. WOOT!!! He is from show lines, the hens are hatchery quality, but if they start to lay in time, I will try to send you an egg or two even, for the big New Year's hatchathon.
