I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving . Welcome to the new arrivals to what has to be the largest one day hatch in BYC history . Way to go Mahonri for organizing it !
My incubator mix has a possibility of change ; my white Ameraucana roo will be leaving tomorrow to preside over a new flock of whites and hopefully improve their leg color . Replacing him will be a Paul Smith bred , blue Ameraucana ; and so possibly some of the last gathered eggs for Dec 11 will be from his efforts . This hatch will be EE , but later he will be placed over my best B/B/S Ameraucanas that have not started laying yet . I feel excited and grateful about getting him .

Well better news today. I have one mutt hatched and fluffed and one barred bantam cochin hatched and a red and silver laced cochin pipped.

If each of us had just 20 eggs in the bator (and they all hatched) that's over 1200 new baby chicks!
So we'll all have to give a total on January 2nd or 3rd and I'll tally it up!

Should be a fun month!
Tomorrow we are two weeks from setting!

I think one or two of my wheaties (or BW are laying) again! Thinking about popping them in also....I think I need a bigger bator.

I got 4 eggs today. 1GCM, 2FBCMs and one little BWA pullet egg.

I'm taking 2.5 dozen down to Tucson Tofu EARLY in the morning (trading for a polish mix that came from my eggs),
Then EVERYTHING I get from now till the 11th is going in the bator.
I'll probably have FBCM and GCM chicks for sale once I see how they feather out!
Just wish my polish and my Ameraucanas would start laying. Chili powder goes in all the feeders tomorrow, praying it works.

So DW and the kids are in the front room putting the lights on the Christmas Tree. We got them all up and then 1/4th of the largest strand the lights quit working. Exit me. I have no patience for going through each light (big surprise to all of you I'm sure)
Some of the boys and their neighborhood friends are playing cards in front of the fire in the family room. DW has Josh Grobans Christmas album playing on her i-Pod/Bose and it's filling the house with wonderful music.

I'm on BYC and watching ESPN in the bedroom. AZ leads OR 16-14 at present crossing my fingers for the Wildcats.... they are moving down the field quickly... I wish it were the 4th quarter! Looks like it's really raining in OR.

Happy Black Friday everyone. I only left the house once, to take the kids to Tangled. Cute movie.

I would play this game but it is so cold here and my hens have stopped laying.. and am afraid the usps would just freeze my eggs...

All of our children are here, except oldest son. House is full of laughter and silliness. We just finished playing a couple rounds of, "Apples to Apples." fun game.... Eating left overs all day long. I am stuffed! Chickens are roosting. Everyone winding down.

Football is on now .... men to the game room and the big screen. Kids to the guest house watching movies. I get peace and quiet.

Went out and got ALL my shopping done, and home by 7AM this morning. Easy year..... one computer for each family. That takes care of kids and grandkids. Simple. Best thing, they were on sale! They all have laptops, and agree with me ..... we hate them, in general. So, desk top models they shall have.

No real crowds to fight at our small town Walmart. The big gathering was at Orscheln's. They had tons of great deals. I grabbed a few things there, too.

At roost time one of my BCMarans was sitting in a nest. I left her one egg, to see if she is broody. Will watch for a couple days.
