Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

It could be a Wyandotte.

Thank you Mahonri, you have made me feel better today. I know I still could have been duped on my Ameraucanas and it could be one of them laying that egg but knowing that it could possibly be a Wyandotte makes me feel better! Even if I do find out that I have EE's instead of Am's I will keep them just hate to be fooled.

It is a good size pullet egg so it is going in to the hatch!
ETA - Not going to set that egg, just found a crack on it. Hopefully I will get another one before setting the eggs big enough.

That's the same color as the eggs I get from my Gold Laced Wyandotte (Dottie). She's my avatar.

Well really hoping that I won't have to bow out. Plugged in the bator today to make sure it was going to work properly. Powered up fine, temps came up nice and stabilized well but the humidity pump wouldn't work. After doing some troubleshooting (DH helped thank goodness because I probably would have told them the wrong thing was broken) it looks like the bator doesn't send enough voltage to the pump to work it. Does anyone know how fast Brinsea is about getting replacements to you or are they going to make me send it in for repair? I soooo don't want to miss this and wish I had checked this out last weekend. Just my luck, I get a defective bator out of the box and don't check it until now.

Thank you Pelican! I am pretty sure that it is my GLW laying it. I actually got two new layers yesterday. I think my other layer is my other blue (hopefully) Ameraucana. Found the egg this morning in their run on the ground. It had to have been laid yesterday before they went in for the night since I found it before I let them out this morning. I had already gotten the two eggs from my other AM's that are laying earlier yesterday so now I have five of the seven pullets laying!
Now I just hope I can get the bator issue resolved in time to do the hatch since I will have plenty of eggs to do it. Both new layers are starting with good size eggs too. Figures!

Bravo! I'll be having some EE and Blue Ameraucana eggs coming in the week of December 20, if only it were earlier! You know, it's HARD to just sit here and watch everyone talktalktalk about their hatches, when I can just admire.

Wow, you guys were busy while I was sleeping!

Mahonri........no, I don't move my eggs around in the bator. Haven't had any issues either. Actually, that's not true............I will move the eggs closer to the center when I remove any non developers.

I gotta make a feed & BOSS run now, so I'll be interested to see what transpires on this thread in that couple hours or so. I am counting the unloading and putting away and re-filling time, plus some quality chicken time.

Then I'm gonna put the ginormous brooder "together" and set up the electric connections for it out in the new shed... Okay, it will be afternoon before I check back here. Probably gonna be even more pages by then.

Still too early to get the eggs from Trader Joe's, though. That will be Wednesday evening.

Linda looks like you are feeling better! So glad to see it! You have to post pics of the brooder set up!
