And some of your eggs.

Rathbone...........they take a loooooooong time to hatch. Get away from the bator. Clean your house, go Christmas shopping, but get away from that bator!

I like your reasoning. I quietly bought just as many eggs as the incubator would hold. My husband was aghast. I carefully explained to him it would be fine. I read that only about half of shipped eggs actually hatch. That means that out of my original 40 eggs, really only 20 would hatch. He still was worried. I explained further...but out of the twenty that hatch, only half are female. See how easy that was - out of 40 eggs I REALLY am only bringing 10 new chickens into our family.
The next set of eggs I was buying as these are in the incubator. As boxes arrive at the house, he raises his eyebrows but does quick math - nods his head and says "I see forty eggs but its really only ten right???"

Two Dozen eggs from my birds have been delivered to Laree to hatch.

I love all of her birds in the back yard and she has such a gorgeous house and wonderful family. Her husband just has one of those contagious smiles.

Rathbone: So glad you are a part of this hatch. You know what they say, "Birds of a feather, flock together..."

Those birds in those pipped eggs are now getting fresh oxygen to breathe so they can absorb yolk and muster the strength to zip out.

Just waiting on eggs now from Illia, Chookschicks & onthespot.

I imagine I'll get two dozen today and the last dozen on Friday.

The three dozen I got today are in the bators turning... but ONLY the turners are on.

I saved 6 of my own to stack and then any others that are laid between now and Saturday will also be stacked.

It's getting eggsciting.

That is just what I need to hear. I'm going home - feed my little boys, hug my husband, and then we will come back to the office (my eggs are here at the Fort Mojave Indian Education Department for my kindergarten students) to check in and see if anyone is out and ready to get in a brooder.

Just as I suspected... so I'll stuff that sucker to the brim. It's like a dishwasher right, it's all in how you tetris the stuff in there?

Dishwasher - Tetris - hahahahah, Happily that turner keeps me at a limit. One egg per slot. Gotta have limits!
