I have eggs in the mail, too. I should get them in the morning. WOOO HOOOO ! ! !

I almost emailed you to see if YOU had any eggs!

Not too many right now. Actually, this week they have started to pick up a little. I have alot of molting happening!

Hmmm, I don't know the details. Young or not, you will see the difference immediately. They are just fabulous birds! Mine have grown since I got them, and I am hoping for eggs any day now.

Uh-huh! I was all nice and chatty with the person I bought my ebay eggs from. I just got a confirmation that he sent them...and he liked me so much he put in a bunch of extras. I couldn't decide whether to clap or groan. How would I decide who to leave out of the incubator if there isn't enough room???
And yes, it is 2:46 a.m. I couldn't stop worrying the chicks would hatch out and burn themselves floundering around (that little heating bar thingy in the incubator is hot to the touch). Now y'all stop giggling! In retrospect it does sound ridiculous but I did indeed find them flopping around and accidentally touching that thing!
I am proud (as if I had in hard labor for 20 hours now) to announce that four little lovelies are bobbling around in there. The first two were from my silkie hen - of course. The other two are marans. They hatched out golden??? The lady said they were either blue copper, blue splash or golden cuckoo. She didn't happen to mark which eggs were which on these two so I will be trying to figure that out as i go?

I didn't explain WHY I'm so grateful for Laree... not only is she hatching 2 dozen of my own eggs for me.... that wonderful Patty (onthespot) sent a little more than 1 dozen. She sent THREE!!!
BLESS HER HEART!!!!
So you can all laugh at me now... like Laree did when she read my message begging her to hatch more for me....
So Laree will be hatching 4 dozen eggs for me!

This will be the first time I've ever hatched a SILKIE!

Oh and she said there might be some Naked Neck EEs! And Black Orps I can't wait!

I may as well start building two new pens right away.

Congrats. Those eggs in your bator at present have got two days to hatch and get the bator clear for Saturday...... Just sayin'...

And I can't sleep now just wait three weeks....

And the power outages start in southern Ohio! Woke up at 5:45 to no power to anyone on my road. Already got the generator up and running with the incubator full of eggs for christmas hatch plugged in, thinking I am going to have to plug in the one with yesterdays hatch in if it does not come back on sometime soon. Gotta love rural electric co-op!

After days of waiting for the tracking on my lav orp eggs to update, it finally did and they are in Salt Lake City as of just after midnight today! They should be at our post office today and DH is going to pick up the box for me. I told him to be gentle with the box and have not told him what is in it. I wonder if I can pass it off as a fragile Christmas present and sneak the eggs into the bator when he isn't looking?

Nah I will just open the box when I get home and show him. So excited to get some of these. Hopefully the post office hasn't scrambled or frozen them.

Now all I will have to hope for is the replacement bator arrives tomorrow or Saturday. If not, I am still going to start incubating on Saturday with the defective bator (power not getting to the humidity pump so I will just have to put water in the bator and keep an eye on humidity) and just transfer the eggs once the new one is up and running at temps and humidity.
