I had Cinnamon Queens as my first chickens ever as a kid! I remember they laid well, but I was not allowed to enter them in the fair! Try telling a 10-year-old that his chickens are not purebred enough to be in a 4-H fair! I thought 4-H was about farming and learning!

4-H now has a crossbred class. I have shown for 7 years now and most of my animals are crosses. I do have my Show Stock, but mostly I have my seabright and layer crosses.

At my County Fair every bird goes through a health inspection before entering the fair. If they are sick, they are sent home. I always dust my birds just in case before I enter the barn. same for Rabbits and now for sheep as well.

Actually got up and went to the seminar. bought a battery for my pilot's keyless entry. I'm having lunch and taking a nap.

DS and DW said they watched a hawk attack my free ranging EE roo. The 6 month old EE roo won, but he's a little bloody. I'm glad that it was a small inexperienced hawk. I've got my two 14 week old shipped birds from Peachick in quarantine on the north lawn... I was worried about them, but they are fine.

Incubators keep on rolling. 360 hours to go!
