Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

OK I can stand a little more rain now.

Went out front to make sure my car wasn't crunch by a tree limb or anything else flying down the street. And a bird flew by and POOPED on my windshield! Went to have it detailed on Christmas Eve and they were already closed. I think I'm thankful for that now. Especially with that big black splat! At first I thought something hit it and it was cracked.

Anyway main reason I came back in was I was out front and found an egg! Thing is it wasn't from any of my birds

Hi! My 17 eggs are finally moved to a clean hatcher.
I'd like to take a moment to say " ___ you" to the person I loaned an incubator to early summer. I opened the bag you'd left it in and it was vile (stuck in a garbage bag dirty, with shells and all)--- had to take it completely apart and replace the thermostat (that is only slightly better than the other loaned-out incubator that has still not been returned). (if I could remember who you were, I'd tell you in person.)
This weeks' duck eggs aren't done hatching and I just filled another incubator with 6 doz+ eggs (duck and chicken), and another incubator has the eggs (duck and chicken) set the 18th, and duck eggs set the 11th.

Really? It just now changed on my monitor...... weird, huh?

Mine, too... Which is why I commented.

Wolftracks, who has been laying eggs at your place? Transient hen? With a little hobo sack on a stick across her shoulder?

Huh? What is it from?

They are rebuilding a house across the street and there's been 5 chickens running the neighborhood ever since. They people are supposed to be moving back in, but left chickens and cats behind.

The chickens just run the neighborhood and they come into the front yard every morning, so I guess they heard mine weren't laying and left me a present.

If I were you I'd stick that sucker in an incubator. You know, just to see what comes out.
