#3 is out and I actually got to watch most of the hatching (between getting ready for work). The little black chick and now 2 blondies with black markings. They are all SS mixes. Now I have to leave. I dont think my supervisor will eggscept that I am late to watch chicks hatch. Good luck to everyone and hopefully I will be able to get online at work tonight and see everyones progress. I get out at 11 pm and about half hour drive home will keep me from the worst NYE drivers and home in time to see if any of the remaining eggs are hatched or if one will be nice enough to hatch at the strike if midnight for me.

I have been sharing the last two sets of photos with a co-worker I am trying to woo over to the dark side (he so needs to get a few chickens!) and he's fascinated with the pictures. ""Have YOU seen that?" he asked.

Yup. Now he has an understanding of why I am so into chickens and incubating.

One hour old and resting. S/he has been very vigorous and active! Now it's resting up.

ETA: I lost an entire hatch from one of those!

So I just pulled it, barely opened the bator, candled it and there is movement. I put it back in and upped the humidity. I have a brinsea so it shouldn't have affected much.

My wife and kids just got home and gave me an update...1 FBCM and 2 BO's motoring around. 2 other FBCM's have pipped, and one has zipped.
