Since I am in the running... I can no longer judge....

What think ye?

Beat that CA and AK!!

I'm naming him or her "Lucky" the blue egg with that written on it still hasn't pipped!

I'm going to go in there and try and hold still so you can read the time on the laptop next to the bator...

Craps...

My chick got caught in the wires of the incubator. I had no intention of opening the bator until tomorrow,---so my inside brooder was not ready--- but it needed rescuing.

Unfortunately, my efforts were hampered by tipsy guys and wide-awake toddlers.

SERIOUSLY PEOPLE, GO TO BED!!

After all is said and done, the chick is in a temporary brooder on the counter.

Is she snuggling with a bunch of emu feathers??? They sure look like emu feathers...

EDIT to add: I see a few posts later you say it's ostrich. I could have sworn it was emu.

Well, home from work and still 3 babies, so I opened up and pulled them out quickly and turned the box around to get a good look at the others before locking it back down. No more pips or activity, so I will let them stay for a few days just in case. The 3 show great signs. I put them into the brooder and did a little scratch action at their food and water. They all seemed to get the idea quickly.
