Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

The very blue egg that I named "Lucky" because I grabbed it just as the blue wheaten hen laid it and brought it into the house and "stacked" it already warm in my brinsea just after noon on the 11th.... pues, I wrote "Lucky" right on the top of it..

IT'S PIPPED... right at the end of day 21!! I so hope that Lucky hatches... and that BaRock Marana is a pullet!

I have 4 ameraucanas out and one on it's way, one not doing a thing. One of the chicks didnt make it though.
NONE of my Lavendar Orps hatched. only one ever developed and it quit before lockdown.
Both silkie eggs were pulled a while back, no development ( I wasn't sure if they were even fertile, they were from a new little pullet and laid right after we got her)

But 5 out of 6 of my own eggs is pretty good. A little sad about the orps. DH was really wanting those. They were shipped.

Seriously! What's up with my duck eggs? Chris Duck was 4 days late and now yours are inching along. Is this normal? I did read it can take 48 hrs from pip to hatch on duck eggs. I don't have that kind of patients! I have 10 more of my runners under my giant cochin safely set up in her own tiny coop. She is about 9 months old, this is her first time being broody, clearly no one told her to wait for the warmer weather!

I've got three, and all three I helped out. I didn't know about the 48 hours things, but I am having MAJOR humidity issues.
